Split systems
One box on the wall, one out the side. The simplest way to make a room comfortable all year, and the system we install more of than anything else.

What a split system actually is
Two units working as a pair — a head mounted on the wall inside, and a condenser outside. No ductwork, no ceiling access, and nothing pulled apart to fit it. That makes it the least invasive system to install and the easiest to add to a house that was never built for air conditioning.
They get called ductless or reverse cycle air conditioning as well. Same thing. And reverse cycle is the important part — the one box heats through winter and cools through summer.
- Heats and cools from the same unit
- Room by room, so you are not paying to condition the whole house
- Quiet enough for a bedroom
- Works for homes, shops, offices and site huts
One head or several
A single split runs one head off one outdoor unit. A multi-split runs several heads — bedrooms, living room, a home office — off the one condenser, which keeps the outside of the house tidy and usually costs less than separate systems.
Sizing is where these go wrong. An oversized unit short-cycles, never dehumidifies properly and costs more to run than the right one. We measure the room, look at the glazing and the aspect, and quote the capacity it actually needs.
Brands we install
Daikin, Fujitsu, Mitsubishi Electric, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Carrier, Midea, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Panasonic, Actron Air and Temperzone — all in a range of capacities. Tell us the room and we will tell you which ones suit it and what the difference in price buys you.
How it goes in matters more than what you buy
The brand on the box matters less than the install. Capacity sized to the room, the outdoor unit sited properly, pipework run short and lagged, and the electrical side done and certified — that is what decides whether a system lasts fifteen years or annoys you for five.
We do the electrical ourselves rather than book a sparky and hand you two invoices and two lots of waiting. You get a measure and a written quote before anything is ordered, and the system commissioned and handed over properly.
